Flap Wheels

Flap Wheels are a convenient and reliable way to carry out a wide variety of operations in the metal fabrication, welding and finishing industries.

They will conform to intricate shapes and contours.  In use as they wear away they continually expose fresh abrasive, so giving a consistent finish and uniform rate of cut.

The two most common types are based on either coated abrasive flaps, or non-woven abrasives.  The abrasive may be graded aluminium oxides, silicon carbide or ceramic aluminas with grit sizes usually ranging from 40 to 320.  Non-woven flap wheels may be interleaved with cloth or coated abrasives, to increase aggression and stock removal.

Typical applications are de-burring, de-flashing, blending out machine marks, producing a range of scratch patterns, cleaning and preparation for painting or polishing.
